First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a modified version of Baduanjin, a gentle qigong exercise, is safe and helpful for people with colorectal cancer who have an ostomy. 258 participants will either do Baduanjin or walk five times a week for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure sleep quality, fatigue, and overall quality of life to see if the exercise makes a difference.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a safe, gentle exercise option to improve sleep, reduce fatigue, and boost quality of life for people with a colostomy.

What could go wrong

This is a relatively small, early-stage study focused on symptom relief, not a cure. The benefits may be modest, and results may not apply to all patients.
