Could your gut bugs predict if cancer returns?

NCT ID NCT07211230

Summary

This study aims to understand if bacteria in a person's gut at the time of colon cancer surgery might cause the cancer to come back later. Researchers will collect stool, blood, and tissue samples from about 107 patients before and after their surgery to look for specific bacteria or their byproducts. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to future ways to prevent cancer recurrence, but this study itself does not test any treatments.
