First human test: how kidneys process new drug

NCT ID NCT06693765

Summary

This early-stage study tested how the experimental drug AZD4144 behaves in people with different levels of kidney function compared to healthy volunteers. Researchers gave a single dose to 41 participants, including people with mild to severe kidney impairment and those on dialysis, to measure how their bodies processed the drug and check for side effects. The goal was to understand if kidney disease changes how the drug works, which is important for future dosing decisions.
