Robot pancreas tested for dialysis patients

NCT ID NCT06330194

Summary

This study tested a new automated insulin delivery system for people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who also have advanced kidney disease or are on dialysis. The system uses a sensor and a pump to automatically adjust insulin doses. Researchers compared eight weeks using this system to eight weeks of usual care in 15 participants to see if it better controlled blood sugar and improved quality of life.
