First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study examined whether people with eating disorders have certain autoantibodies (immune proteins) that target appetite-regulating substances in the body. Researchers collected blood samples from 211 participants, including patients with anorexia, bulimia, or binge-eating disorder, and healthy volunteers. The goal was to better understand the biological factors behind eating disorders, not to test a treatment.
