First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether placing small seeds on specific points of the ear (auricular acupressure) can help reduce pain after a cesarean section. Seventy women who had a C-section were randomly assigned to receive either real acupressure seeds or fake (sham) patches. Researchers measured pain levels and how much extra pain medication was needed during the first 48 hours after delivery.
