First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at 118 adults of African or Indian descent in the French West Indies who have a rare form of diabetes that is not caused by the immune system. Researchers want to find genetic changes that may explain why these patients develop severe symptoms like ketoacidosis. The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a new treatment.
