Immunotherapy boosts standard treatment for aggressive cervical cancer

NCT ID NCT03738228

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tested whether adding the immunotherapy drug atezolizumab to standard chemoradiation could help control advanced cervical cancer that has spread to lymph nodes. Forty participants received the drug before and during treatment to see if it activated their immune system against the tumor. The goal was to improve disease control, not to cure the cancer, as ongoing management is still needed.
