Asthma study probes deep lung inflammation with new inhaler particles
NCT ID NCT00203684
First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at inflammation in the small airways of the lungs in people with mild to moderate asthma. Researchers tested whether a steroid with small particles could reach deeper into the lungs better than a large-particle steroid. 57 adults took part, using lung function tests, breathing measurements, and tissue samples from a scope procedure. The goal was to understand inflammation, not to treat asthma directly.
