Summary
This study is developing and testing short videos for teens (ages 12-17) and their parents after a traumatic injury that requires a hospital stay. The goal is to see if these videos can help prevent posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance use. The study has two phases: first, creating the videos with input from families and trauma experts; second, testing whether the videos are practical and helpful for about 92 teens and their parents.
