Daily aspirin may shield IVF moms from dangerous pregnancy complication

NCT ID NCT05625724

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether taking a daily low-dose aspirin (150 mg) starting early in pregnancy can prevent preterm preeclampsia in first-time mothers who became pregnant through assisted reproductive technology (ART) like IVF. About 1,164 women will be randomly assigned to receive either aspirin or a placebo from weeks 9 to 14 of pregnancy. The goal is to see if aspirin reduces the risk of high blood pressure and organ damage that can lead to early delivery.
