One shot could ease knee pain for a year: new hydrogel tested
NCT ID NCT07465601
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a single injection of Arthrosamid, a hydrogel made mostly of water, in 29 people with painful knee osteoarthritis. The goal is to see if it improves daily activity and reduces symptoms over 12 months. Participants wear an activity tracker to measure changes, and the results could lead to a simple, non-surgical option for knee pain.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Arthrosamid (a hydrogel made mostly of water and a small amount of polyacrylamide)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, one-time injection to help people with knee osteoarthritis move better and feel less pain for up to a year.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early study with only 29 people, so results may not apply to everyone. It is also a device, not a drug, so it may not work for all types of knee arthritis.
