NCT ID NCT00512343
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is creating a large collection of joint fluid and blood samples from 500 people with different types of arthritis. Researchers will use these samples to test new biomarkers that could help diagnose arthritis earlier and monitor how the disease changes over time or with treatment. Participants must have significant joint swelling and be willing to provide samples along with their medical information.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to new tests that help doctors diagnose arthritis earlier and track how well treatments are working.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study that only collects samples, so it does not test any treatment. The findings may not lead to immediate clinical use.
