First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a natural mineral supplement called Aquamin can prevent pouchitis, a painful inflammation of the J-pouch, in people who had surgery for ulcerative colitis. About 52 participants who recently had J-pouch surgery will take Aquamin or a placebo. The goal is to see if Aquamin reduces inflammation and delays or prevents pouchitis from developing.
