Summary
This study tested whether having spine surgery patients wear an Apple Watch to track their steps and distance could help improve their recovery. 255 adults scheduled for elective spine surgery at Stanford University wore the watch before and after their operation. The goal was to see if this activity tracking, combined with discussing goals with their surgeon, would lead to better mobility and satisfaction.
