New CT scans track stent movement inside the body to improve aneurysm treatment
NCT ID NCT07475260
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will use special CT scans that track both the heartbeat and breathing to see how a stent graft moves inside the abdominal aorta after aneurysm repair. Twenty-five patients with complex aneurysms will be scanned before surgery, at discharge, and at 6 and 12 months after. The goal is to understand how these movements might affect the stent's long-term success.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could help doctors design better stent grafts and improve long-term outcomes for patients with complex aortic aneurysms.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage observational study, not a treatment trial. It may not lead to any direct changes in patient care.
