New dressing could speed healing of chronic wounds
NCT ID NCT07261501
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new antibacterial absorbable dressing on 30 adults with chronic non-healing wounds. The dressing is designed to break down in the body and help wounds heal faster. Researchers will measure how much the wound shrinks after 3 weeks and how many wounds fully close. The goal is to see if this dressing is safe and effective for people whose wounds have not improved for at least a week.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
antibacterial absorbable wound dressing (device)
What this could lead to
If it works, this dressing could help heal stubborn chronic wounds faster and more effectively than current options.
What could go wrong
This is a small early-stage trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The dressing might not work better than standard care, and there is a risk of infection or allergic reaction.
