New nerve block may ease hernia surgery pain

Summary

This study will test whether a new type of nerve block, called the anterior iliac block, can provide longer pain relief and improve satisfaction for people having inguinal hernia repair. About 80 adults will receive either the block or standard care along with spinal anesthesia. The goal is to reduce the need for painkillers and improve recovery.
