First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at 332 people having a procedure to remove a blood clot from the brain after a stroke. Researchers wanted to see if using sedation (keeping the patient sleepy but breathing on their own) or general anesthesia (being fully asleep with a breathing tube) led to better recovery and fewer complications. The goal was to find out which approach is safer and more effective for stroke patients.
