First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether giving only pain medicine (remifentanil) without sedatives is safe and feasible for adults in the ICU after brain surgery. The goal is to avoid side effects of sedatives, like confusion or hiding signs of brain problems. Sixty-five participants will be monitored closely for 24 hours to see if this approach works without needing rescue sedatives.
