Could an arthritis drug ease long COVID lung woes?

Summary
This study tests a drug called anakinra (already used for arthritis) in 182 adults with long COVID who have ongoing breathing issues and signs of an overactive immune system. Participants receive either anakinra or a placebo for 4 to 8 weeks. The goal is to see if the drug can improve lung function, reduce the need for emergency care, and prevent lung scarring. This is a phase 2/3 trial, meaning it checks both safety and effectiveness.
