Can an arthritis drug tame Dengue's deadly inflammation?
NCT ID NCT05611710
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether anakinra, a drug that reduces inflammation, can help people hospitalized with severe dengue who have very high levels of a marker called ferritin. About 160 patients will receive either anakinra or a placebo, and doctors will track how their organ function changes over four days. The goal is to see if the drug can prevent the dangerous overreaction of the immune system that sometimes makes dengue worse.
