New membrane patch aims to heal stubborn bedsores faster

NCT ID NCT07126886

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a single-layer amniotic membrane (a thin tissue from donated placenta) plus standard wound care helps close nonhealing pressure ulcers better than standard care alone. About 100 adults with stage 3 or 4 pressure sores on the trunk will be followed for 20 weeks. The main goal is to see if more wounds close completely with the membrane treatment.
