NCT ID NCT07341984

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a personalized physical therapy program, designed based on each patient's specific muscle strengths and weaknesses using a robotic leg press, can help people with ALS maintain physical function better than standard physical therapy. Thirty-eight participants will receive either individualized or usual care physiotherapy and be followed for 12 months. The goal is to improve how physical therapy is delivered for ALS in a safe, patient-focused way.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Individualized physiotherapy

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a more effective, patient-centered physiotherapy approach to help people with ALS maintain physical function longer.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 38 participants, so results may not apply to all ALS patients. The intervention is non-drug and focuses on symptom management, not altering disease progression.
