Gene study could unlock clues to esophageal cancer outcomes

NCT ID NCT07322627

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a specific gene, ALDH2, which helps break down alcohol, is linked to how long people with esophageal cancer survive. Researchers will follow 700 patients for up to 150 months to track survival. The goal is to understand how genetic differences might influence prognosis, not to test a new treatment.
