Summary
This trial tests a culturally adapted program called SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) for trauma patients who drink alcohol. Emergency department staff in Cameroon will screen patients for risky drinking, offer a short motivational counseling session, and refer those who need more help. The study will see if this approach reduces alcohol use over six months compared to usual care.
