Summary

This study is testing an AI voice assistant named Dora that makes automated phone calls to patients who have had a bone fracture. The goal is to see if Dora can safely and accurately collect information about risk factors and medication side effects, compared to a regular call from a clinician. About 217 patients aged 50 and older will take part, along with their doctors. If successful, Dora could save time for healthcare staff.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Dora Care (AI voice assistant)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could free up clinicians' time by letting an AI handle routine phone assessments, making fracture care more efficient.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study, not a large trial. The AI may not be as accurate as a human, and some patients might find it impersonal or difficult to use.
