AI heart patch could slash stroke risk in rural seniors

NCT ID NCT06842147

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares a 7-day AI-enhanced single-lead ECG patch against routine 12-lead ECGs to detect new atrial fibrillation in 15,360 adults aged 60+ in rural China. The goal is to see if longer, smarter monitoring catches more cases and reduces deaths, strokes, and heart failure hospitalizations over three years. Participants wear the patch for a week; no drugs or procedures are tested.
