AI blood test could spot lung cancer early in smokers with COPD

NCT ID NCT07552584

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing whether a blood test, combined with artificial intelligence (AI), can help find lung cancer early in people with COPD (a lung condition often caused by smoking). Around 1,000 participants will give a blood sample, and the AI will analyze it to see who has a higher risk of lung cancer. Those at higher risk will then get a low-dose CT scan to check for cancer. The goal is to see if this approach is practical, safe, and better than current methods for catching lung cancer early.
