Blood cell mutations may reveal secrets of aging

NCT ID NCT02604563

First seen May 26, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how tiny changes in blood cells, called clonal hematopoiesis, relate to aging and heart disease in people 50 and older. Researchers will check for these mutations in 2,000 adults and follow them over time to see if they raise the risk of blood cancer, heart problems, or other age-related conditions. The goal is to better understand aging beyond just a person's age.
