First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
The AGEWISE study is observing 300 healthy women aged 40 to 64 in Portugal to understand how gut bacteria change with hormones during menopause. Participants provide stool and blood samples and answer health and diet questionnaires. Researchers hope to uncover connections between the gut microbiome, hormone levels, and inflammation to improve future prevention strategies for women's aging.
