New pill tested against standard IV drug for Tough-to-Treat head and neck cancer

Summary
This study tested whether a daily pill called afatinib works better than a standard intravenous chemotherapy (methotrexate) for patients with advanced head and neck cancer that has continued to grow after initial platinum-based treatment. It involved 340 patients and aimed to see which treatment could better control the cancer's growth, help patients live longer, and improve their quality of life, particularly regarding pain and swallowing.
