Heart fix without X-Ray: new study tests safer ablation for AFib

NCT ID NCT06719921

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to perform a heart procedure for atrial fibrillation (AFib), a condition causing irregular heartbeat. One method uses X-ray guidance, while the other avoids X-rays entirely. About 724 adults aged 18-80 with AFib will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The goal is to see if the no-X-ray method works just as well at restoring normal heart rhythm for at least a year, while also being safer and simpler.
