Foam treatment may unlock lung valves for emphysema patients

Summary
This study tests a foam called AeriSeal in 200 people with severe emphysema. The foam is placed in a damaged part of the lung to block air leaks, which may then allow doctors to insert a valve that helps the lung work better. The goal is to see if the foam can make the valve treatment possible and improve breathing over two years.
