Immunotherapy-Chemo cocktail shows promise for Hard-to-Treat bile duct cancer

NCT ID NCT07668453

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new combination of an immunotherapy drug (adebrelimab) plus two chemotherapy drugs (gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel) as a first treatment for people with biliary tract cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. The goal is to see if this combo can shrink tumors and improve survival. Thirty participants will all receive the same treatment, and researchers will monitor side effects and quality of life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

adebrelimab (immunotherapy) combined with gemcitabine and albumin-bound paclitaxel (chemotherapy)

What this could lead to

If successful, this combination could offer a new first-line treatment option for people with biliary tract cancer that cannot be surgically removed, potentially shrinking tumors and extending survival.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase (Phase 2) study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The combination may cause significant side effects, and there is no guarantee it will work better than existing treatments.
