Simple additive may prevent Post-Bypass heart rhythm chaos
NCT ID NCT07205757
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding lidocaine to the Custodiol solution used during heart bypass surgery can reduce dangerous heart rhythms that often occur after the heart is restarted. About 70 adults having planned coronary bypass surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either standard Custodiol or Custodiol with lidocaine. The main goal is to see if the lidocaine group has fewer episodes of ventricular fibrillation after the surgery.
