Needle power: acupuncture may ease stubborn constipation

Summary

This study looks at whether acupuncture can improve bowel movements in people with long-term constipation. 72 adults will receive either manual acupuncture or electroacupuncture three times a week for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if participants have at least three complete bowel movements per week. The study also explores how acupuncture might affect gut bacteria and brain activity.
