Ancient needles vs. modern medicine: can acupuncture stop Chemo's painful side effects?
NCT ID NCT05528263
Summary
This study tested whether acupuncture could prevent or reduce chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN)—a common side effect causing pain, numbness, and tingling in hands and feet. Researchers enrolled 89 women with early-stage breast cancer who were starting taxane chemotherapy. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either 12 weeks of acupuncture treatments or 12 weeks of relaxation videos with exercises to compare their effects on nerve symptoms and quality of life.
