Ancient needles meet ice chips in fight against chemo pain

NCT ID NCT04505553

Summary

This study tested whether adding acupuncture and acupressure to standard ice chip therapy better reduces nerve pain caused by chemotherapy. It involved 78 patients with gastrointestinal cancers who were receiving a specific chemotherapy drug known to cause this side effect. Researchers compared the pain levels of patients who received the combined treatment to those who only used ice chips.
