Needles vs. pressure: new hope for black women battling breast cancer drug pain
NCT ID NCT06534125
Summary
This study is testing whether acupuncture or virtual acupressure can prevent severe joint pain caused by a common breast cancer medication. It focuses on Non-Hispanic Black postmenopausal women with early-stage breast cancer, as they are more likely to experience this side effect and stop their life-extending treatment. Participants will receive either in-person acupuncture, virtual acupressure training, or standard care alone to see which approach best prevents pain and helps women stay on their medication.
