Acupuncture needles take on bladder pain: new study tests a Drug-Free approach

NCT ID NCT06366269

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding acupuncture to standard behavioral changes (like diet and bladder training) can better relieve bladder pain in women with interstitial cystitis. About 34 women who have not had prior treatments will be split into two groups: one doing only behavioral changes, the other adding weekly acupuncture sessions for six weeks. Researchers will track pain and symptom scores to see if the combination offers more relief.
