Thyroid study aims to spare patients from unnecessary surgery and lifelong pills
NCT ID NCT07370675
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is for people with small thyroid nodules (under 2 cm) that might be cancerous. Instead of immediate surgery, which can lead to lifelong thyroid medication and other side effects, researchers want to see if regular check-ups and ultrasounds are a safe option. They will follow 165 adults for up to 5 years to see how many need surgery later or have the nodule grow.
