New needle therapy could ease stubborn achilles pain

NCT ID NCT05301959

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a special needle treatment (low-intensity electrolysis) to standard exercises helps people with long-lasting Achilles tendon pain. About 102 adults with Achilles tendinopathy will receive either the real treatment or a sham version, plus exercise. Researchers will track pain and function for up to a year to see if the combination works better than exercise alone.
