Pre-surgery pill may ease gas pain after hysterectomy

Summary
This study tests if giving acetazolamide (Diamox) before laparoscopic hysterectomy can lessen pain after surgery, especially pain from the gas used in the abdomen. About 100 women having the surgery will receive either the drug or a placebo. Their pain levels and painkiller use will be tracked for 24 hours after the procedure.
