First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a heart disease prevention program to standard lung cancer screening can improve the health of heavy smokers. Researchers will use chest CT scans already taken for lung cancer screening to also check for hidden heart disease. 1000 participants will be followed for one year to see if this combined approach helps them reach goals like lower blood pressure, better cholesterol, and quitting smoking.
