Promising drug combo targets rare sarcoma before surgery

Summary

This early-stage trial tests the safety and best dose of the drug abemaciclib when given with radiation therapy before surgery for a rare, high-risk type of abdominal cancer called retroperitoneal sarcoma. About 18 adults with this cancer will receive the drug and radiation to shrink tumors before surgical removal. The goal is to find a dose that is safe and effective for future studies.
