New hope for sarcoma patients: drug combo aims to shrink tumors

NCT ID NCT06498648

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new two-drug treatment for people with advanced soft tissue sarcomas (cancers of the muscles, fat, or other connective tissues). The drugs, abemaciclib and gemcitabine, work together to stop cancer cells from growing. The trial will compare this new combo to the usual treatment (gemcitabine plus docetaxel) to see if it works better and has fewer side effects. About 74 adults with certain types of sarcoma that have spread or cannot be removed by surgery can join.
