New scan could catch hidden prostate cancers
NCT ID NCT05160597
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a special PET scan (68Ga-PSMA-11) can help guide prostate biopsies to find aggressive prostate cancer in men who had a previous negative or unclear biopsy. About 30 men with suspected cancer will receive the scan, and if it shows a suspicious spot, that area will be biopsied. The goal is to improve detection of dangerous cancers while avoiding unnecessary treatment for low-risk ones.
