Can sound and light waves calm the mind in schizophrenia?
NCT ID NCT07782034
First seen Aug 24, 2026 · Last updated Aug 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether combining 40-Hz binaural beat music with rhythmic light stimulation can reduce anxiety and psychological distress in adults with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Participants receive 20-minute sessions three times a week for 12 weeks, either with the active stimulation or a sham version. Researchers also measure changes in cognitive function and brain wave activity to see if this non-invasive approach has broader benefits.
