First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether an FDA-approved drug, 4-aminopyridine, can improve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome or delay the need for surgery. About 160 adults with carpal tunnel who would otherwise have surgery will take the drug twice daily for 6 weeks. Researchers will track symptom changes using questionnaires and nerve tests over 56 weeks.
